A Challenge To The Justice Minister of Saskatchewan

Shortly after the Saskatchewan election began, a member of the Saskatoon Police Service was quoted in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix as saying that any wilful damage to campaign signs was a criminal offence and the perpetrator(s) would be dealt with as the law allows.

Sometime in the morning hours of October 21st, the Sask Party candidate in Saskatoon Meewasin had a large number of his signs destroyed by acts of vandalism. The Liberal Leader David Karwacki and the NDP's Justice Minister Frank Quenell's signs were untouched.

Since the vandalism occurred in the Justice Minister's constituency and since his signs were not damaged, it is imperative that Mr. Quenell publicly request that the Saskatoon Police Service find the vandals and bring them to justice as quickly as possible in order to dismiss any perception that the vandalism was not a random act, but specifically targeted one of the Justice Minister's opponents.

It is also important that Mr. Quenell publicly state that the vandals were in no way connected to the New Democratic Party, and more specifically. Mr. Quenell's campaign itself.

As the senior person in Sask responsible for the administration of justice, it is only appropriate (and imperative) that the Minister stand up quickly and publicly and call for a full investigation.

Therefore, the challenge put forth the NDP Justice Minister Frank Quenell is this; in order to alleviate the concerns of citizens and voters, will Mr. Quenell a) publicly ask the SPS to investigate the Sask Party sign vandalism in his constituency and b) unequivocally state that the vandals were not part of some organized political action to benefit his constituency and/or his party?

Anything less than that could bring the entire ministry into disrepute.

Right one Boogeyman. Does the NDP have any of the moral courage it one had left in its core. I would have thought a cabinet minister should know this and would have responded ASAP.

Jeeze. Both instances of "one" should be "once".

Sorry Boogeyman, until you have proof of such allegations I don't see why anyone should have to address this. Its a nice attempt to make political hay, however, you should be wary about falsely accusing certain groups or individuals of this act without proof.

Sean,

Obviously you don't understand the important position of your particular candidate. You're new at this. I understand.

When criminal activity occurs in the Justice Minister's consituency to his opponent, it is imperative that he, as the top dog in justice, speak out against it, and offer confirmation that nobody in his camp had anything to do with it.

It's what the Justice Minister needs to do regardless of political stripe.

There isn't any allegation that anyone in Quenell's camp (or a certain group) did this, nor did the original post make any allegations of that kind, but Quenell should be speaking out against law breaker and give assurances.

(I understand you have a reading comprehension issue, and that's fine, but you really need to be able to read to understand this whole Internet blogging thing)

Frank Quenell is the Justice Minister first, the NDP candidate second. And he should do the right thing.

"The NDP/unions are up to their old tricks again."

If that isn't an allegation then what is?

Sean,

That wasn't this post.

If you're proud of the misinformation campaign being waged on the people of Saskatchewan, then say it.

The evidence on the NDP/union tactics has been overwhelming, including your leader's idiotic statements on Murray Wood's show yesterday.

And I will continue to post these examples here for hte next 14 days. They are coming to me from all across the province.

Prove to me that you are the fool you appear to be in your posts.

Defend the indefensible.

right, yet I still see on your sidebar your false claims that the NDP is personally ripping down SP signs....prove it...prove to me that you can actually base your allegations on fact for once....

Name calling is easy, but also the sign of someone who can't argue or make an intelligent point....much like the kid who throws a temper-tantrum when he isn't getting his way....

sean,

Offer me an intelligent point, and we'll chat...
