Don MacNeil, the Western Region VP of the CEP just sent out this NDP talking points memo to all CEP members. It can only be described as a "Hail Mary" pass late in the game, hoping that a touchdown will erase a 20 point deficit.
I particularly like the double standard of this line... "Handing over responsibility to unelected political cronies is not the way to properly run a province."
Is that not unlike having non-elected unions used as a way to relay a political message and secure votes on a party's behalf?
And how about, "It will be harder for unions to organize and make it easier for employers to intimidate workers." That would be as opposed to now where unions intimidate workers if they plan to vote other than for the NDP.
And besides, why would a union worker care about other employees ability to organize?
As I've been seeing time and time again during this election campaign, the union brass has lost the confidence and respect of the rank and file worker because the union brass is so self-serving...
Good luck with that long ball, Mr. MacNeil.
